Website policy
Website terms
Effective September 4, 2026
Important: These terms govern the public website only. They do not replace a client engagement letter, confidentiality agreement, research license, or other signed contract.
Acceptance and permitted use
By accessing this website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the website. You may view and print a reasonable number of pages for your own lawful, internal evaluation of Harbor Light Research’s services.
You may not misuse the website, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, introduce harmful code, scrape it at scale, misrepresent its content, remove notices, or use it in violation of law.
Website content and engagements
Website content is general information and may be changed or removed without notice. It is not a research deliverable and does not create a client, advisory, fiduciary, partnership, agency, or other professional relationship.
No engagement exists unless Harbor Light Research and the client sign or otherwise formally accept a separate written agreement. If these website terms conflict with a signed agreement, the signed agreement controls for that engagement.
Intellectual property
The website’s text, design, logos, graphics, and other original material are owned by or licensed to Emile Behrtel, trading as Harbor Light Research, and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. “Harbor Light Research” and the lighthouse identity may not be used in a way that suggests endorsement, affiliation, or authorship without prior written permission.
Brief quotation for criticism, commentary, or other use allowed by law must include accurate attribution and may not change the meaning. No right to reuse a client research report or other confidential deliverable is granted by these terms.
Third-party material and links
Third-party names, quotations, data, trademarks, and links remain the property of their respective owners. A link or reference does not imply endorsement. Harbor Light Research is not responsible for third-party content, availability, security, or privacy practices.
No warranty
To the fullest extent permitted by law, this website is provided “as is” and “as available.” Harbor Light Research disclaims implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. Availability, accuracy, completeness, and security are not guaranteed.
Limits of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Harbor Light Research and its owner will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive loss arising from or connected with this website, including lost profits, lost data, business interruption, or investment loss. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
General terms
If part of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining parts continue in effect. A failure to enforce a term is not a waiver. You may not transfer your rights under these terms. Harbor Light Research may update these terms by posting a revised version and date.
Questions about a signed engagement should be handled under that agreement using the professional contact details provided there.
